A new contemporary single-storey ‘garden room’ extension is proposed for a two-storey-over-basement property in Rathgar.
This Late Georgian/Early Victorian Era terraced house, a Protected Structure, retains its original 3 storey return and has a poor connection to the garden as a result.
The new extension contains a new kitchen for the house and a breakfast area and acts as a direct link between the garden and entrance hall level.
Large areas of glazing and solid walls are positioned to provide privacy for the occupants and neighbours on the one hand, while also maximizing the openness of the extension when viewed from the reception rooms or garden.
