This feasibility study explores the maximum potential to extend and refurbish this end of terrace house in Terenure.
The existing house dates from the 1960’s and a new pitched roof was added on top in the last 20 years.
At ground floor level, a single-storey extension to the side makes use of the underutilised side passage providing a new larger entrance hall, a larger WC, a cloak room and utility room. This allows for a new open-plan arrangement for the kitchen, dining and living areas.
Placing the kitchen in the centre of the plan allows for flexibility of use for the other areas, between dining, living, home office, etc.
Upstairs, a new permanent stairs is placed between the front and back bedrooms leading to the attic. The attic is also converted, accommodating a shower room, a study or spare bedroom and a storage room/walk-in wardrobe.
The proposed work increases the existing floor area by 50%, from 109sqm to 164sqm.
